Aston Barclay’s all-in-one solution reaps rewards for ENGIE at inaugural Leeds LCV sale

  • Aston Barclay handled global energy provider ENGIE’s unique requirement for the handover of new LCV fleet and auctioning of de-fleeted vehicles
  • Leading vehicle remarketing group hosted first LCV sale at Leeds centre
  • Unprecedented demand for LCVs online and at Yorkshire site with all vehicles sold

Aston Barclay’s Leeds site has hosted an extremely successful first-ever light commercial vehicle sale, following a request for a bespoke solution to a specific need from leading global energy provider, ENGIE.

The French multinational called upon the expertise of the top-three remarketing group to handle the entire remarketing process, starting with the two-day transfer of a replacement fleet on October 27/28, with Aston Barclay facilitating a complete two day hand over process of 90 new specialist vehicles and an introduction handover for the staff involved in the new ENGIE contract.

This was followed by Aston Barclay completing the end-to-end de-fleeting of the Ford Transits – in a variety of sizes and configurations – thoroughly preparing them for the auction on November 15th.

The healthy demand for LCVs from Aston Barclay’s ever-growing buyer base at its Leeds site – many of whom frequently source vehicles through its LIVE online service during dedicated commercial vehicle sale at Westbury – was fulfilled at the sale, with impressive footfall and digital traffic leading to a 100% conversion rate.

Aston Barclay’s flexibility in responding to vendor and buyer needs allowed a quick turnaround of handing new vehicles over to ENGIE employees and achieving successful conversion figures at an award winning fleet, and up-and-coming, dealer centre.

“We were more than happy to step in and help ENGIE facilitate its unique requirement for a quick turnaround in a very tight timeframe, by managing the complete handover of its defleeted and new vehicles. The resulting successful sale at Leeds generated a quick and significant return on ENGIE’s investment, proving extremely popular with our established LCV audience,” said Martin Potter, Group Operations Director at Aston Barclay.

“Aston Barclay’s expertise made them an easy choice to handle the outgoing units and getting our employees back on the road in a wholly replaced fleet. This helped to minimise downtime and enhance efficiency of our UK operation, not to mention save us a considerable expense,” commented Ian Akrill, Head of Fleet at ENGIE.
