Aston Barclay turns ’16-plate trade-ins into cash within 48 hours

  • Cars traded in for ’16-plate vehicles from leading dealer groups auctioned at Chelmsford on 2nd March
  • Turnaround achieved thanks to Aston Barclay’s service, investment and quick and efficient inspection process
  • Chelmsford sees 5% improvement in CAP Performance figures, compared to same sale in 2015

Aston Barclay has quickly turned cars into cash following the 1 of March new registration by collecting, inspecting and selling vehicles from leading dealer groups at their Chelmsford site, all in less than 48 hours.

Prior to the March 1st switchover, Aston Barclay’s new fleet of transporters were ready to collect trade-in vehicles late on Monday, 29th February and into the early hours of Tuesday morning, after a busy night for dealer groups delivering ’16-plate cars to their customers.

Immediately after arriving at Chelmsford, all vehicles went through Aston Barclay’s inspection and appraisal service before being imaged for physical and LIVE sales. All vehicles were ready for the bustling Wednesday morning sale in Chelmsford, just 24 and 48 hours after the dealer received the trade in.

Sale prices for these vehicles saw a  5% increase in CAP Performance figures for Aston Barclay’s Essex auction centre, compared to the same sale in 2015, thanks to strong buyer demand.

A combination of Aston Barclay’s service and flexibility and its significant investment across the group in its auction and inspection facilities, logistics, personnel and IT infrastructure allowed it to swiftly meet customer and buyer demand, especially during the extremely busy registration changes.

“Our ability to rapidly respond to our customer’s needs, especially during the extremely busy bi-annual registration change, was never more obvious than in the last 48 hours,” commented Martin Potter, Remarketing Director (South).

“This has allowed our customers to quickly optimise returns on trade-ins, enabling them to focus fully on selling new cars, while satisfying demand for forecourt fresh vehicles from Aston Barclay’s established and ever-growing buyer base.”
