RAA appoints Autorola as its online remarketing partner

The Retail Automotive Alliance (RAA) has appointed Autorola as its online remarketing partner after a six month pilot sold used cars worth more than five million pounds.

The trading group which has 22 dealer group members and over 200 retail sites will use Autorola’s online sales platform with its 2,000 active buyers to sell unwanted and over age used stock.

Oliver Greening, RAA’s business development director said: “Our six month pilot with Autorola was very successful and our members immediately embraced online remarketing with over 600 used cars sold worth more than £5m.

RAA member Essex Auto Group which is a multi-franchise dealer with five sites was an early adopter with Autorola and is now selling around 500 cars annually online at an average price of between £8,500-9,000.

“We are predominantly a retail oriented dealer group and often have more used cars than we can retail,” said deputy managing director of Essex Auto Group, Mike Brown. “Seamlessly uploading cars online when they reach 45 days in stock and still having the car for sale on a forecourt works well for our locations – plus it improves used car stocking efficiencies.”

Autorola’s national business development manager Simon Wells set up and ran the RAA pilot and has been pleased with how RAA members have embraced online remarketing. “The success of the pilot shows the foresight of dealers to make online remarketing work for them. The average used price of £8,000 shows the quality of stock being sold online and our national buyer base has welcomed the opportunity to buy direct from high profile dealer groups,” he said.
