- Dealers save between £40-£60 on each vehicle movement through Movex platform
- Movex expects to double movement volumes through its platform in year four to 80,000 jobs
Movex celebrates its third birthday this March by announcing it has saved dealers £1.74m in reduced vehicle collection and delivery costs.
The Movex website has placed 67,000 jobs worth £5.8m with transport companies since March 2012, with each job saving the dealer an average of 30% in reduced costs.
Dealers simply place a live job on movex.co.uk and transport companies can bid on it. On accepting the bid price, the online platform brings both parties together and the vehicle movement is activated.
Over 5,000 vehicle dealers and auction companies have signed up to the platform. Over 600 transport companies have registered, with some having completed a few thousand jobs in three years with each supplier also rated on its service.
“Generally a dealer saves between £40 and £60 on each movement. With some dealer groups spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on vehicle movements annually, this level of saving can make a positive impact on a dealer’s bottom line,” explained CEO Daren Jones.
Movex’s state-of-the-art backload feature, which is dedicated to filling any empty slots on car transporters or return journeys for trade plate drivers, is a major factor in saving money for dealers. It generates quicker turnaround times, lower prices and provides a return job for the transport company. This win-win situation for both parties is also increasingly environmentally friendly.
Jones set up the company after years as a used car trader who always struggled to get used cars collected or delivered on time, and at a reasonable price.
“It was always a challenge to get a vehicle collected or delivered on time so I decided to do something about it. After nine months of development work, the Movex platform was born. We’ve had a very good response from both transport companies and dealers and we hope to double our completed movement volumes in year four to 80,000,” he added.
