BCA Blackbushe site opens after plane crash

All planned auctions will take place from today at BCA Blackbushe in Hampshire following the plane crash near the site on Friday afternoon.

A private jet, which was arriving from Italy, was attempting to land at Blackbushe Airport but crashed into a holding car park at BCA’s adjacent auction site. The pilot and three passengers, all members of Osama Bin Laden’s family, died in the crash.

BCA confirmed that around 30 vehicles were damaged in the incident and it is in the process of contacting their owners.

“Around 30 vehicles were involved in the incident and the company is currently liaising with those customers affected,” said a BCA statement.

“Blackbushe auction centre is fully operational with all scheduled sales taking place.”

A spokesman for BCA confirmed the crash had “no impact whatsoever” on the site’s operations with today’s first auction starting as scheduled at 10am.
