For those wanting economy and space

The Nissan NV200 van has been named as Glass’s Used Van Hero for April.

Each month, Glass’s Commercial Vehicle editors hold a meeting to name the current Used Van Hero in the UK market – the model they believe offers versatility, economy and outstanding value for money.

Andy Picton, Chief Commercial Vehicle Editor: “The NV200 is a true multi-purpose vehicle. Offered as a van and MPV as well as a taxi in some markets, its compact footprint can easily swallow two Euro pallets and is popular with SMEs”.

Andy added that “With its frugal engines offering up to 57.6mpg, tidy, warranted examples of the NV200 are always in demand, with higher specified models often with metallic paint, eagerly sought after.”

WHY?

Available in numerous guises with various power trains including electric. Sold under several names in Europe, India, North America, Japan and China.

WHEN WAS IT ON SALE?

Launched in 2009.

WHAT’S GOOD?

The 5year/100,000 mile pan-European warranty (eNV200 – 5yrs/60k warranty), 728kg maximum payload, low running costs and good driving position.

WHAT’S BAD?

Although functional, the NV200 looks a little dated when placed against some of the competition. Electric variant still to sell in any volume in the UK.
