The Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra are the most searched for used cars on finance.
They are followed by the Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Insignia and Audi A3, according to statistics compiled by iVendi’s Car Finance Checker online motor finance pre-qualfier.
James Tew, CEO at iVendi, said: “These are the most popular cars for which customers have gone online and checked themselves for potential finance eligibility on car portals, and dealer web sites.
“With a spread of mainstream, semi-prestige and prestige models, it shows how online car financing and retailing is really starting to take a grip in all parts of the market and for all kinds of dealer.”
Car Finance Checker was launched last year and uses lender criteria to enable customers to check the likelihood of receiving approval for finance from the panel of lenders used by each vendor across a range of products.
Tew said: “Adoption of Car Finance Checker is growing quickly. It is a product that is very much in the spirit of the times because it allows the customer to progress their car purchase online while putting them in control of the finance process.
“They can look at different products and see the effects of varying factors such as deposits and payment terms across a range of lenders. From an FCA point of view, it is highly transparent and also provides an audit trail for dealers.”
